The Dark Sky Initiative is an educational endeavor, promoting AWARENESS and ACTION about wasteful light pollution. We advocate for LIGHTSCAPES and SMART LIGHTS, the BRIGHT solution to light pollution.

GOALS
We are resolved to restore the Milky Way to its former
luster and luminosity by promoting:
- Awareness of wasteful light pollution
- Lightscapes and Smart Lights--voluntary, unique, nighttime lighting plans
- The SCOPES IN SCHOOLS program, providing incentive and motivation
- Common sense, not confrontation and controversy. We wish to provoke and promote a DARK SKY REVOLUTION across America!
